They won't cancel my dad's service after he died. Horrible experience. How can you enforce a contract like this? When we are selling the house and don't need the service. 3 yr contract is a scam when operating this way. Do not use.

I called today to activate an SST system that is already installed in a home that we are renting but I was told that they only offer a 3 year minimum commitment for new customers. I explained that we rent and do not have the ability to know for certain if we will be in this home for 3 years and the customer service person told me that their company president has put his foot down and there are no exceptions. Very odd business model for a smaller player in the home security business.

A hefty 40USD/Month cost for a minimum 3 year contract means 40*12*3 = 1,440 USD just to try the service out. That's bananas when their competitors are offers way lower rates for more features (with 30-day trial periods!). Furthermore SST refuses to provide these rates anywhere other than over the phone, maybe they are afraid it will make them look silly? Why are you being so shady SST?

I had SST setup my AV and security in our house back in 2020. We had everything setup on the TVs, surround sound, security cameras, etc. They were great then. I have since had network issues affecting everything in our house including wifi extenders, routers, streaming and my home office connectivity. I have now been down for 2 weeks and they will not return my multiple calls and emails. I got a hold of a customer service rep last week who said he would elevate it to urgent and get me on the schedule... still NO calls. I am now looking for a new company to take over and I will be switching my monitoring service to someone more reliable and who understands that I have a home office and the network is critical to my ability to work. Too bad because I really liked this company a couple years ago.
